In 312 AD, Constantine I defeated Maxentius on this site
of the famous Battle of the Milvian Bridge.
Discovering Rome's Present: Ponte Milvio
Today, as popularized by the novel Ho voglia di te,
young lovers put a padlock on the third lamp post
and they throw its key into the Tiber so nobody could
break the sign of their love.
